Just How Big? is a static interactive reference for comparing physical measurements. It connects 733 entities, 761 canonical quantities and 240 selected comparisons through one calculation and visualisation system.

What makes the atlas useful

The project normalises named dimensions, converts units, preserves representative ranges and places calibrated illustration spans on a shared scale. It favours a smaller set of defensible canonical pages over automatically generated keyword variants or every possible pair.

Editorial boundaries

Entity records distinguish exact definitions, specifications, representative examples, estimates, models and theoretical scales. Descriptive text is derived from those records and their approved sources; missing facts are not invented to lengthen a page.

Measurements and illustrations

Physical values and source attribution are stored independently from artwork. Some raster illustrations are AI-assisted and receive editorial review, while exact rulers and abstract quantities use procedural diagrams. The methodology explains calibration and uncertainty in detail.
